From time to time some of my friends ask me how to get into tech industry nowadays. Answer is not that obvious as it was even 2-3 years ago. I believe that tech industry is in quite strange place, where a lot of people want to get into but on the other hand market still lacks specialists and passionate people who want to discover. I have noticed that it's very challenging to get into tech world now and obvious choices like learning front end development may not work out like it's supposed to.

In this post I am going to point out technology industry fields that are worth looking at in terms of getting into.

Nocode/Lowcode

Nocode/Lowcode definitely became some kind of movement. It's great solution for startups, or cases when some company want to bootstrap a new project, validate business idea in short time without spending fortune. On the other hand it's great opportunity for people who want to get their feet wet in development field witout much experience. One of the main struggles for many people, when they are learning to code is that first results of coding practices may not be visible and satisfying enough, compared to effort the put to get it what easily discourages a lot of programming adepts.

I've tried some of nocode/lowcode tools and I am trully astonished what we can deliver in such short time. Of course what is under the hood, aesthetics and generally feeling about the solution may leave a lot to be desired but at the end of the day it works and solve the problem. When i was exploring one of the most popular nocode tools - bubble.io, I got through templates catalog and it's amazing what we can get even with free versions. Of course it's still crucial to acknowledge some of the programming related principles like architecture patterns, APIs, authorizations, sessions etc. but in this context it may be easier to understand even for people who are newbies.

Quality assurance

In the era of AI or mentioned before nocode solutions, in my opinion, QA specialists are even more desired than ever before. Premade or generated software is still going to have bugs and generate technical debt even on early stages of production. That's the reason why I believe that becoming that kind of expert is beneficial

AI Experts

There are already many fields in artifical intelligence area where we can get specialised in. And even though AI may sound like some kind of magic to many, entry level jobs are still available. I have noticed that AI focused content creators or research assistants are needed. Some other entry level positions in AI field that are worth looking at are Junior Data Analyst, Junior Software Engineers, Information System Analyst.

I believe that learning Python and any AI API's that serve various types of machine learning models is crucial in this case.

Cyber security

I guess it's quite obvious that cyber security is extremely important nowadays - with exponentional pace of technology development and blessings coming from it at the same there are a lot of risks and new ways to bring harm to people and companies.
